Detwiler's Farm Market held a media event day to announce their newest store located at Clark and Swift. We had the opportunity to hear from Henry Detwiler talking about the commitment his entire family has to the Sarasota community delivering fresh LOCAL food for less.
It's hard to live in Sarasota and not know what Detwiler's is all about. The new store will account for about 150 new full-time jobs and is a blessing for those who have to drive to one of the other stores.

It's hard not to have a good time walking the docks, looking at all the new and used boats under blue skies! The annual Suncoast Boat made our day. There was plenty to look at. From fishing boats to cabin cruisers, there were boats of all sizes and prices.
The featured boat this year was the new 84' stainless steel construction houseboat. With a 40' beam, it is impossible to miss. Of course, the $12 million price tag was a little out of our price range, so we continued on to look at more modestly priced boats.
We found a boat that features an aft bar/lounge that should make for some serious relaxation time for the new owners.
Our day ended with a wonderful late lunch at Marina Jacks. Check out our adventures, and we hope to see you next year.
We all know what big part music is to all of us. What we didn't know was how much of a head start music brings to the overall development of children when brought in early. Tanya Roth of Half Steps took a few minutes out of her day to tell us about the Music Today program she offers that has been around for 30 years.
We left with smiles after seeing just how much find the kids and the parents had.

We sat down with Robin Baggs of Refresh by Robin to talk about the locally sourced organic products she uses with her holistic skin-care methods. Other than sun-tan lotion, we didn't know a lot about skincare and all the potentially harmful ingredients contained in many skin care products.
Driven to live an organic lifestyle after the birth of her son, she is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to skincare. Many of her first-time clients are amazed at the results when going organic. A soothing and relaxing session will leave you questioning why anyone would want to torture themselves with something as painful as a peel!

We had a great time talking with Lee Davis of Merchant Card International. Lee talks to us about how businesses in the Sarasota area can add to their bottom line by reducing the fees paid to banks for processing their card transactions.
What we really liked (in addition to saving money), was the fact businesses can find out just how much they can save in less than a day. It costs nothing to check it out and if you are not happy for any reason, there are no long-term commitments.
